Chrysler Financial to close Overland Park customer center, lay off 240

More News Chrysler Financial, which lost its business with Chrysler dealers because of the automaker’s bankruptcy, will close its Overland Park customer center and lay off 240 people. The center will close Aug. 31, and severance will be based on years of service, said Amber Gowen, a Chrysler Financial spokeswoman. Chrysler Financial said the move was part of a companywide reorganization made necessary by declining vehicle sales, tight credit markets and the new Chrysler Group’s shifting its retail business to GMAC.
