Providence lawyers take on case of Guantanamo detainee

PROVIDENCE — As an attorney specializing in antitrust law, Patricia A. Sullivan typically deals with corporate giants and mergers and acquisitions. But recently she and Deming E. Sherman, a fellow partner at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, have taken on an unusual client: Mullah Norullah Noori. A 41- or 42-year-old Afghan, Noori has been held at the United States detention camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, since his capture during the fall of Mazar-e Sharif in 2001.
