Japan stocks fall after lender seeks bankruptcy

TOKYO—Japanese stocks retreated Monday, dragged lower by the collapse of a Japanese lender as well as concerns about the fate of U.S. banks. The benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average lost 40.22 points, or 0.5 percent, to 7,376.16. The broader Topix fell 0.6 percent to 735.28, hitting a fresh 25-year low for the second consecutive session….
