Carilion gets OK for mobile unit in Salem

Lewis-Gale Medical Center and Carilion Clinic have reached an agreement to allow Carilion to operate a mobile imaging unit in a parking lot less than a mile from Lewis-Gale in Salem. The written agreement comes after months of protests from Lewis-Gale administrators and affiliated physicians objecting to what they said would be an encroachment on Lewis-Gale’s patient population and physical location.
