200 trees cut for Pangasinan highway

DAGUPAN CITY?Environment advocates were apparently caught napping when more than 200 trees in a patch of forest in Mangatarem town in Pangasinan were cut for a new road that will connect the province and Zambales. But the highway project did not have a tree-cutting permit from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Philippine Daily Inquirer learned.
